The camp has been used as a base camp for wildland fire suppression activities; this includes housing ENR staddm firefighters, pilots, cook staff and camp maintenance personnel. Other activities include training emergency firefighters and using the facility for culture camps, by ENR and local first nations. The camp is not used year round; it is occasionally used between June and August, depending on fire situations and is occasionally used in the winter during months of December through March.
