The Jay Early Works Permit (W2016F0007) authorizes the Company to conduct early works activities associated with the Ekati Jay Project, including construction of  the Jay Road, The Jay North Road, and the Jay pipeline Road. There are eight (8) locations where watercourses intersect these roads and will require the installation of culverts to pass water flow and "where appropriate", facilitate fish passage. One crossing at Channel B0 located is greater than 5 m at the point of construction and therefore requires a Type B Water Licence is required for this crossing, per the Waters Regulations, Schedule H, item 2(1).
This Licence entitles the Arctic Canadian Diamond Company Ltd. construction of a structure across a Watercourse (B0), as described in the complete application dated November 25, 2016.
