Dominion Diamond Ekati Corporation submitted an Application to amend their Type A Water Licence (W2012L2-0001) to increase the annual water use limits for Two Rock and Sable Lake to support the Sable pit development at Ekati Diamond Mine. In accordance with paragraph 41(2)(a) of the Waters Act, the Wek’èezhìi Land and Water Board (WLWB) scheduled a Public Hearing for March 2, 2017.

The WLWB did not receive any notifications that any person or body intends to appear and make representations to the Board in connection with this matter. Dominion Diamond Ekati Corporation has consented in writing to the disposition of this matter without a Public Hearing. Therefore, the WLWB has cancelled the Public Hearing in accordance with paragraph 41(3)(a) of the Waters Act.
